Big statement by Patrick Kane for next season
Patrick Kane addressed the media after signing a new one-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings. The 35-year-old, who joined Detroit last season following hip surgery, had a significant impact, scoring 20 goals and 27 assists in 50 games.
Kane emphasized the importance of starting the season healthy and with a full training camp.
"For me personally, having a full training camp, coming in healthy and feeling good will be big for me and for the team. Just looking forward to building on what we accomplished last year," he said.
Feeling fresh and optimistic about his body post-surgery, Kane aims to elevate his performance further. He expressed excitement about the potential of playoff hockey at Little Caesars Arena, especially after narrowly missing the playoffs last season.
Kane also highlighted Vladimir Tarasenko's addition as a crucial boost for the team.
"Adding his presence is going to be huge for the team," Kane remarked.
Kane noted that their families have already connected, showing early signs of team camaraderie.
Kane is eager to help lead the Red Wings back to playoff contention, building on the momentum from last season.
