Blackhawks young star reveals why he never wanted to play for the Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings fans have had salt poured on the wound with this recent Chicago Blackhawks forward statement.
Frank Nazar was born in Detroit, Michigan, but has never worn a Red Wings crest in the NHL.
Originally selected 13th overall by the Blackhawks, you have to wonder whether or not he'd ever consider playing for the Detroit Red Wings.
A legendary team that has won 11 Stanley Cups in the NHL and has seen players who have become icons wear the winged wheel.
But Frank Nazar, the former Blackhawks prospect, has decided against playing for the team.

Regardless, it's a harsh look for Red Wings fans who are finally looking on the horizon of a playoff run but have been shunned by one of the league's top prospects.
Who did the Detroit Red Wings take in the 1st round in 2022?
Since Frank Nazar wasn't chosen 8th overall, he was available to the Chicago Blackhawks at 13th OA.
The team opted for a gritty, two-way Austrian-born forward, in the 8th overall pick, Marco Kasper, who had been in the Calder Trophy discussion last season after finding his legs in the NHL with the Red Wings.
In reality, we'll never know if Steve Yzerman had Nazar on his radar, but he has been a revelation for the Blackhawks this season.
In 15 games this season, he's scored 11 points (5-6) and has played 71 games in the NHL during his short career. He's scored 38 points (18-20) in that time frame and is poised to be a star in the NHL.
In reality, this could end up biting Yzerman in the end, as Kasper is certainly a great player, but Nazar is developing quickly this year.
