Detroit Red Wings owners are facing backlash from unhappy fans as photos of outside Little Caesars arena surface.

When the Ilitch family unveiled plans for the Little Caesars Arena and its surroundings, they included the rink in a massive entertainment district in downtown Detroit.
Nearly a decade later, there are construction sites everywhere near the arena, and frustration about another controversial decision made a few years ago is still being felt in the fanbase.

Many frustrated fans shared their dissatisfaction on X:
"I think what bothers me the most about the absurd prices surrounding all things Detroit Red Wings hockey is that the building (despite the first game being played there nearly 3000 days ago) still looks like a construction site.

It would be one thing if the area around the facility was as beautiful as you promised us nearly 10 years agobut alas, it still looks like this.

Not only does it look like this, the team is still in the middle of the longest playoff drought in franchise history.

And hilariously enough, it's never cost more to take your family to a regular season Red Wings game. I'd love for someone with access to ask Pizza Boy about this, but they unfortunately never will.

And yes, I know life is expensive, but there is a Billionaire in Metro Detroit who could lower prices and get that fence down in a couple phone callsand he won't, because he's not his dad."
Other fans point out how design choices feel more about profit than experience even inside the arena:
"You're not even mentioning the arena seating. They maximized profits by putting suites up close and then a 'mezzanine level'. Watching from the 200 level nosebleed section is awful. Hold your elbows in tight to squeeze into a seat and then wish you had brought binoculars."

The other decision that still remains a sore point in the fanbase is the rooftop. Originally, the team logo was supposed to be on the top of the building, but instead, fans got a giant Little Caesars logo:
"Nan we still don't even have the LED roof we were promised. Pizza boy doesn't care. District Detroit will never exist, and we won't make the playoffs because we're afraid to actually try."
The Wings are still in their longest playoff drought, and the massive changes in downtown Detroit that were promised still haven't been made.
Fans hope to see the owners take action soon to resolve these matters. Meanwhile, online criticism is poised to keep coming.
