Detroit Red Wings forward prospect Carter Mazur, whose 1st NHL game ended in seconds because of an injury, provided a critical health update on his status.

Red Wings prospect forward Carter Mazur was hurt in his NHL debut against the Ottawa Senators in early March after literally just 2 shifts.
He was re-called by the Red Wings from the Grand Rapids Griffins earlier in the day and had hundreds of family and friends in attendance at Little Caesars Arena for the game.
He was placed on Injured Reserve and didn't play again for either the Red Wings or Griffins for the rest of the season; Detroit failed to make the playoffs, while the Griffins were eliminated from the postseason by the Texas Stars on Saturday.
Mazur was recently interviewed and said that while it was disappointed that he wasn't cleared in time to help the Griffins in the playoffs, he's feeling physically stronger than ever.
Really good, I just got cleared yesterday, which was pretty tough. But I'm heading into the offseason stronger and better than ever, honestly. They put me into a good spot here even though I've been hurt. I'm weighing the most that I've ever weighed and I'm the strongest I've ever been, so it's going to be a good offseason.

Talking about his brief NHL debut, Mazur expressed gratitude for the support that he received - even after the injury.
It was pretty special, I tried to take in everything I could. I think I had 400 family and friends there, it was special for me and having that whole support. I got an unbelievable amount of texts, even after I got hurt and they were still there to support, it feels pretty good to have that support behind me and it was a really special day.

Mazur said his goal for the offseason is to continue building up strength so that he can return to full form later in the fall.
Just get my body right, it's something I really need to focus on. Need to add strength and muscle, it's something I've always been told. I know what is in front of me, and I just need to take advantage of it.
