Detroit Red Wings recent signing of scoring champion suits up for Team Latvia at World Championships
GM Steve Yzerman looks like a genius, as prospect Eduards Tralmaks scored a huge goal for Latvia today in the World Championships.
Yzerman signed Tralmaks just a few weeks ago, who then received an invite to the Latvian National Team.
He'd utilize his great skating ability to turn that takeaway into a goal as he put the Latvian National Team up 1-0 at 10:54 in the 1st-period.
Look at the silky-smooth hands of
Tralmaks and his ferociousness when he attacks the net.
This is another example of the abilities of Tralmaks, who was the Czech Extraliga's scoring champion.
GM Steve Yzerman signed the Latvian forward last month. He'll be joining Latvia to compete in the World Championships on May 9th, in Denmark.
Tralmaks is a big-body forward, at 6'4", 210 lbs, and scored 51 points (28 goals, 23 assists) as a member of Jaromir Jagr's HC Kladno.
He's a 28-year-old veteran who's seen significant playing time at the University of Maine and played in the AHL with
the Providence Bruins.
He is one of only three other
Red Wings players we'll be able to catch in the IIHF Worlds in May.
He'll join
Moritz Seider, who'll join Team Germany, and Finnish prospect Jesse Kiiskinen, who plays on the Finnish National Team in international competition.
Eduards Tralmaks was signed to a one-year, two-way deal which pays him $775K AAV on March 21st, 2025.
It's likely we'll see him in the AHL with
the Grand Rapids Griffins before he gets a look in the NHL, but this footage is promising.
