Detroit Red Wings practice today was subject to a scare involving team captain Dylan Larkin, who went down in quite some pain.
Captain Dylan Larkin is a resilient leader for the Red Wings. Today, he put that into practice.
Instead of hauling himself off the ice, in what was a scary moment, he decided to stick it out and play through it.
This is concerning, as the team has been hush-hush on what could be an ongoing issue for Larkin.
Last season, it was believed to be a lingering injury that the team captain was facing, which caused his lack of point production for the season.
The Detroit Red Wings Can't Afford to Lose Dylan Larkin
Larkin has been the only bright spot for the team as of late, scoring 19 points (9-10) in 16 games for the Original Six team.
A strong start for the season and for a team that needs his hustle all the time.
The former 15th overall pick in 2014 has finally seen progression towards a playoff run this season, but it's in peril as the team has struggled recently.
The Red Wings are 9-7-0 and 4th in the Atlantic Division. Losing Larkin would be the death knell of whatever kind of magic they've used to get this far.
