Steve Yzerman could bolster the Detroit Red Wings' lineup by tapping into free agency, by making a trade, or signing one of them in July.

With forward Martin Necas removed from the list of available pending UFAs after being signed by the Colorado Avalanche today, the Red Wings will have multiple players available to trade for or sign in July.
NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman explained the stakes for interested parties.
"Whoever's left, their leverage rises and rises and rises."

The Remaining Free Agents That The Detroit Red Wings Could Make A Move for

The Detroit Red Wings will have to keep a close eye on the free agent market, as the team will be looking to strike deals in March. If they're still around by July, it could mean a new signing for the player and team.
Artemi Panarin, NY Rangers
For Artemi Panarin, his time in New York may be running out as his $11.6 million contract is set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season. As a former 120-point player, he could be a game breaker for the Red Wings.
Adrian Kempe, Los Angeles Kings
The Red Wings should consider the latest report of NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman on Kempe, as his price tag continues to rise (upwards of $11 million), whereas the Kings were hopeful he'd settle for $9 million.
If a disagreement on value arises, could it end up being the end of Kempe in Los Angeles?
"I think the Kings have to sign Kempe. The good news for them is I think he wants to stay there, but I also believe this has moved into a zone (i.e. price range) that the Kings didn't think they were going to have to go to."

Alex Tuch, Buffalo Sabres
It might be hard to pull Tuch away from the Sabres, as the two sides were entering contentious territory in negotiations.
It got so hot that the two had to step away for a while. With his latest production of 11 points in 11 games, the price tag for Tuch will continue to rise for the two-way forward.
Rasmus Andersson, Calgary Flames
There hasn't been much discussion of Andersson after recent trade rumors. Instead of an extension being offered, we might see where he ends up in March. Where could he land in trade?
Sergei Bobrovsky, Florida Panthers
With the Florida Panthers' tight cap situation, a 37-year-old goaltender who has won two Stanley Cups and will be finishing a $10 million salary cap hit, could he be the next to test free agency?
