Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman has hinted at his summer plans for 2025, and fans can rest assured that there will be changes being made to the roster.

Unless the Detroit Red Wings get some serious outside help, they're likely going to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs for what would be the 9th straight year; it's the longest playoff drought in team history.
Red Wings general manager and beloved franchise icon Steve Yzerman has begun to take some heat from fans, many of whom feel that the club should be further along as they near the end of his 6th year on the job as GM.
Yzerman explained that he's going to continue doing what he believes are the right decisions for the club moving forward and into the summer.
I'm going to continue doing what I think is right and here at the deadline, over the course of the summer, at the draft, and always do that. I want to make the playoffs. I want to win a Stanley Cup as much as anybody in this city, and I take full responsibility for where we're at today.

I'm going to make the best decisions that I can for us, short-term and long-term, and not feel like I'm doing that I'm doing anything that is right for me. It's going to be right for the team.

Some of the decisions that will have other be considered is the future status of the underwhelming Vladimir Tarasenko, who has been floated as a possibility of having the final year of his deal bought out.
Additionally, the Red Wings will have to decide the future of Patrick Kane, who is playing on an expiring deal. Also playing on expiring contracts are the likes of Alex Lyon, Jeff Petry, Tyler Motte, Craig Smith, and Jonatan Berrgren.
It's going to be a big summer for the Red Wings - what moves do you want to see the most from Yzerman?
