Detroit Red Wings goaltender John Gibson suffered an injury in last night's massive win against the Anaheim Ducks.

Keep in mind, three goaltenders for the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins are also injured at this moment.
Only two weeks after he was welcomed back to Anaheim for the first time since leaving the team to join the Detroit Red Wings in the offseason, John Gibson's second start against his former team went much better performance-wise, but another issue came up in the game that worries fans.
Indeed, Gibson had to leave the game after the second period, being replaced by Cam Talbot for the final stretch of the game.

John Gibson Leaves With Injury, McLellan Shares Post-Game Update

It's unclear how the injury happened, as a few incidents can explain what went down.
He was involved in a collision with an opponent late in the second period, but he was also hit twice on the mask by shots.
Here's what McLellan had to disclose after the game:
"Gibby left after the second with an upper body issue. He's still going to be evaluated tonight, and we'll see how he is in the morning."

About how Gibson got injured: "I couldn't tell you. I don't know."
Forward Alex DeBrincat, who played a big role in the win with two goals and an assist, also shared his thoughts on the Wings' goalies, saying he hopes to see Gibson get better quickly but that he's confident in both him and Talbot to get the job done.
In his own words:
"We're confident in both goalies. I don't think it really affects us much. Obviously we want to see Gibby be all right, but we trust Talbs in there and he did a great job in the third period and really kept us in it."

With Sebastian Cossa and Michal Postava already injured with the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Wings' goalie depth took a massive hit.
As of now, Carter Gylander or Dustin Tokarski are the backup options.
Another update should come later today. Stay tuned for all the latest details.
