Despite his best intentions, this Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician crashed the Detroit Red Wings game and didn't bring them any luck on Friday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Jack White is a Detroit, Michigan-native and a lifelong Detroit sports fan.
Just a night before, he performed at the Thanksgiving Halftime Show at the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions with fellow Detroit-born musician Eminem.
The pair teamed up for a mashup of The White Stripes "Hello Operator" and Eminem's "'Till I Collapse" before White closed the performance with the hit "Seven Nation Army."

The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee rang the Hockeytown goal horn with enthusiasm before the start of the game and autographed the glass wall in Little Caesars Arena.
But it didn't help.
White, White may be a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, but the electric vibes coming from him didn't trickle on the ice as the Tampa Bay Lightning were able to put a stop to the Red Wings 6-3.
The 12-time Grammy Award-winning musician is known for the iconic White Stripes song "Seven Nation Army," which has been an anthem used by sports teams across the country.

The Detroit Red Wings need help from forecheckers; not musicians

Ideally, someone like Jack White, who's a legendary musician and has stacked hit after hit, should be a help in lending energy to the fans and team on the ice.
But Todd McLellan, in a postgame scrum, detailed the lack of defense and offensive connection, sharing that the two weren't performing as a unit that shares the ice should.
He began to ask questions about what they could do to clean up their performance after a dismal showing. Holding the Red Wings player accountable is the next step in a course correction.
«So, let's take care of what we can take care of. If you're an individual and you're playing, clean it up. And if you can't, then we've got to start asking ourselves, 'Do you belong?' This is about all of us. If you can't clean it up, we got to figure things out.»

Maybe if he had brought Eminem, things would've changed? I don't know, but the Red Wings are now 13-11-1 and 5th in the Atlantic Division.
We understand why Mclellan's frustrations have boiled over, as the team isn't performing as it should.
