Detroit Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman is taking on an advisor role with Hockey Canada as they shape their 2026 Olympic roster.
NHL insiders Chris Johnston and Pierre LeBrun have penned a piece for The Athletic that details the painstaking process of roster construction.
Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman has the privilege of offering his wisdom to Doug Armstrong, Julien Brisebois, Kyle Dubas, Jim Nill, and Don Sweeney in order to build the best roster available for the upcoming Olympics.
Needless to say, fans aren't sold on the idea of him helping out Team Canada:

With his experience winning in 2010 in Vancouver and 2014, where Yzerman would win a gold medal both times as GM.
While no major decisions have been made yet, there's a significant dearth of talent they can tap into:
