Alex DeBrincat is now following in the footsteps of his Detroit Red Wings teammate, Dylan Larkin, who earned the honor of being named the NHL's first star of the week in October.

After a successful week individually for Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat, he's rightfully been named as one of the NHL's three stars of the week.
On October 20, Dylan Larkin was named the NHL's first star of the week with an impressive stat line of four goals and five assists in just four games played.
Now, it's time for another Red Wings forward to surge through headlines around the league.

Alex DeBrincat named NHL's second star of the week

After a strong showing of five goals in just three games, DeBrincat was only outshined by one entire player in the NHL, who is Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars.
"DeBrincat finished second in the NHL with five goals in three appearances (5-1-6) to lift the Red Wings (11-7-1, 23 points) into second place in the Atlantic Division on the strength of a 2-0-1 week. DeBrincat, who also tallied a League-best three power-play goals (one in each contest), posted 2-1-3 (as well as his 33rd career game-winning goal) in a 6-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks Nov. 13. He then scored twice, his 41st career multi-goal performance, in a 5-4 overtime loss against the Buffalo Sabres Nov. 15 before recording the opening goal in an eventual 2-1 win versus the New York Rangers Nov. 17. The 27-year-old DeBrincat, who sits among the 2025-26 NHL leaders in power-play goals (t-3rd; 6) and shots on goal (4th; 77), places second on Detroit with 9-12-21 through 19 total games this season."
Congrats, Big Cat!
