14 new players placed on NHL waivers: Former 10th overall pick has officially been claimed

14 players have just been placed on NHL waivers on October 1st, and Tyson Jost, who was placed on waivers on September 30th, has been claimed by the Nashville Predators.
NHL waiver group for October 1st
The Red Wings could very well benefit from some of the players placed on waivers today, including Cole Guttman, who's a former Chicago Blackhawks prospect.
Guttman, 20, spent time with the Los Angeles Kings organization last season, and never got a true opportunity to bloom.
With the Red Wings bringing some of their prospects to the NHL this season, Guttman can easily fill the void left behind in the AHL and provide scoring depth.
