Another veteran goaltender after Anti Raanta is retiring after 11 seasons in the NHL
The San Jose Sharks have announced that goaltender Alex Stalock will join the Sharks Audio Network as a color commentator for the 2024-25 season, marking his retirement from professional hockey.
Stalock will share commentary duties with former NHL players Scott Hannan, Jamal Mayers, and Jason Demers, alongside lead color analyst Drew Remenda. They will work with longtime radio voice Dan Rusanowsky.
Stalock, drafted by the Sharks in 2005, played 13 NHL seasons, appearing in 179 games with a 2.70 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. His career included stints with San Jose, Toronto, Minnesota, Edmonton, and Chicago, and he overcame challenges like a myocarditis diagnosis during the COVID-19 pandemic. He was also a standout at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he won a WCHA championship. Now transitioning to broadcasting, Stalock will bring his extensive experience and insight to Sharks fans.
