Chaotic moment at Worlds as player punches a ref
Yesterday was a chaotic day at the IIHF world tournament as a player punched a referee in the face during a game between Latvia and Poland.
Latvian player Rodrigo Abols punched a referee yesterday as he was getting up after getting knocked over by a Polish player.

Following the game, the Latvian player stated that it was not his intention as he thought it was an opposing player holding him and apoligize to the ref multiple times.
"I thought the Pole was holding onto my shirt. I tried to get free. Unfortunately, there was the official. I apologised a thousand times, and even after the match."
"I hope they can see that was not my intention."
