Don Cherry obliterates the Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney

Don Cherry is a controversial figure in the hockey world for his outspokenness, and once again we get a hot-take from him on the Boston Bruins trade deadline situation.
Don Cherry coached the Boston Bruins from 1974-1979, a team he undoubtedly has a connection to.
Well, as you all know he has kept us up to date with his own perspective on the NHL with a podcast he hosts.
On his latest episode, he expressed an opinion on Don Sweeney that wasn't favorable, and had him puzzled on the goals the Bruins had in early March.
«That's a big turnover, for sure. I don't understand it. Something funny going on in that whole organization. They're going to miss the playoffs, that's for sure,» Cherry said. «I don't know why they're doing this. I just don't understand it. They got rid of so many good players, and now look at them.»
The team shipped out Brad Marchand, who was sent to Florida, a rival Atlantic Division club. Brandon Carlo was sent to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a decent return in Fraser Minten and a 1st-round pick, while Trent Frederic was traded to Edmonton.
This was after the team let Jake DeBrusk sign in Vancouver last July, and Charlie Coyle was sent to the Avalanche.
Let's not forget that they sent Linus Ullmark to Ottawa, in another underwhelming return of Joonas Korpisalo, and the 25th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft( Center Dean Letourneau).
Cherry correctly pointed out that the Bruins lack an identity as a team and have been dealt crushing blow after crushing blow, after Joe Sacco was unable to course-correct after the team fired Jim Montgomery.
The Bruins remain out of a spot in the playoffs, and are six-points behind original-six rival, the Montreal Canadiens.
Bang-up job, Don.
