One of hockey's legends, Jaromir Jagr, began his remarkable 37th professional season with his hometown team, Kladno Knights, in the Czech Extraliga.
The 52-year-old winger, who also owns the team, impacted his season opener by setting up a power-play goal in a 5-1 loss to Pardubice. This season is widely expected to be Jagr's last. Despite being sidelined for four weeks during pre-season due to a muscle injury, Jagr played through the discomfort, admitting he's still working to regain full form and needs more games to get there.
This marks Jagr's first season opener since 2018, after parting ways with the Calgary Flames and transitioning back to Kladno, where he began his legendary career. His return to the ice is especially notable, as he's considered one of the greatest players in hockey history, second only to Wayne Gretzky in NHL points. Even though this may be his final season, Jagr's determination to compete and contribute is as strong as ever, showcasing his longevity and commitment to the sport he loves.
