Philadelphia Flyers prospect Alexei Kolosov has left the team to return to Russia, citing surprising reasons.

Drafted in the 3rd round (78th overall) in 2021, Kolosov generated excitement with strong KHL performances as an 18-year-old. However, his stint with the Philadelphia Flyers organization, specifically the AHL's Lehigh Valley, left him unhappy.
Kolosov played only two games for Lehigh Valley and felt isolated, housed alone in a hotel despite limited English proficiency. This isolation and minimal practice opportunities as the third goalie contributed to his decision. Additionally, witnessing Ivan Fedotov's direct move to the NHL and subsequent contract extension added to his frustration.
Citing "nonexistent team culture" and a "lack of direction" within the Flyers, Kolosov returned to Dinamo Minsk in the KHL. Despite this setback, he remains a highly regarded NHL prospect. Scouts believe he may return to North America as a free agent ready for the NHL.
