The Detroit Red Wings acquire Elias Pettersson in a massive blockbuster trade proposal with the Vancouver Canucks.

Elias Pettersson had the worst season of his career this year, which was marked by off-ice drama and on-ice struggles. He scored 45 points in 64 games, far from his 102 and 89-point seasons he had in the past two years.
It's safe to say that Pettersson had a tough season, but according to his former head coach Rick Tocchet, who's now coaching the Philadelphia Flyers, Pettersson will be able to bounce back next season.
Here's what he said in a recent interview:
"From the bottom of my heart, he is going to have a bounce-back year. He's a great kid. He's got to get his confidence for himself. But, also his teammates. He's got to get his teammates to have confidence in him again."

With that in mind, a massive trade scenario was proposed.
Indeed, when a player isn't trusted by his teammates, it can be hard to repair the damage. Getting a fresh start elsewhere could be the solution for Pettersson, even though the Canucks would likely prefer to keep him on board.
A new trade scenario between the Canucks and the Red Wings involving Pettersson has been getting a lot of attention.
Check it out:
Red Wings acquire:

Elias Pettersson

Canucks acquire:

Nate Danielson
William Wallinder
2026 first-round pick
2027 first-round pick

Pettersson has the kind of talent that could help the Red Wings reach the next step. However, the Canucks aren't likely to accept, unless they have no other choice.
Here, the Canucks would get two first-round picks, as well as prospects Nate Danielson and William Wallinder.
For Detroit, they would finally have a legitimate second-line center, who could greatly benefit from a fresh start.
Fans are eager to see who the Red Wings will go after this summer, but in my opinion, if Yzerman wants to go after Pettersson, he'll need to make a more interesting offer to the Canucks.
