A decision has been made on Steve Yzerman's fate with the Detroit Red Wings organization, according to recent fan poll results.
Since the trade deadline, many analysts and experts have been rough on Steve Yzerman. After he didn't make any moves to help his team in the last stretch of the season, he was widely criticized by the media, fans, and even his own players.
In fact, team captain Dylan Larkin wasn't happy and he let everyone know in his end-of-season press conference:
"And then I felt the group kind of we didn't gain any momentum from the trade deadline, and guys were kind of down about it, so it'd be nice to add something and bring a little bit of a spark on the ice and maybe a morale boost as well."
In a recent poll published on The Athletic, fans appear to have made their opinion known about Yzerman's future with the Red Wings.
Indeed, nearly 3000 fans took part in the survey, in which The Athletic asked if they trusted the current management team in Detroit and if they were satisfied with Yzerman's work.
On a scale from 1 to 5, with 1 being poor and 5 being excellent, nearly 40% gave the passing grade about the trust in the management team, with more people putting 1 than 5.
As for the satisfaction about Yzerman's work, over 45% of respondents put a 3, and nearly 30% put a 4.

"Still 4 first-round picks in the system that haven't made the jump (another 1 if you include 2025 draft). Plenty of cap flexibility moving forward. If those picks largely flop and the cap space is used poorly, then I'll lose confidence."
Yzerman will be under a lot of pressure in the summer to make his team better. Unless he makes great additions in free agency or the trade market, fans won't be so patient with him next year.
