A major trade proposal involving the Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers involving a Stanley Cup Champion

While the Stanley Cup playoffs haven't begun to kick off, we're looking at a trade proposal that has us intrigued.
The New York Rangers have had issues with Chris Kreider's performance this season, as he's not been the same player the last three seasons, who posted multiple 30+ goal years.
His lack of playmaking has been an issue, and the Rangers could use him in a trade to bring back someone familiar.
That'd be
Vladimir Tarasenko, who, since he left New York, has found success in Florida, winning a Stanley Cup, for his second cup win, and hasn't fit into the Red Wings system.
The trade proposed would be a one-for-one deal, thinking back to a comparable deal like
Shea Weber for P.K. Subban in 2016.
Not to mention he adds a net-front presence as a tip-in specialist in the NHL, it's the reason he's scored so many power-play goals.
Vladimir Tarasenko can return to New York and add scoring depth that's been lacking in the Rangers' lineup this season.
This season, he's played 77 games in Detroit and has only contributed 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) on a
Red Wings lineup that needs help.
As they attempt to claw their way back into a playoff spot in the future, if they don't succeed in 2025, moves can and should be made to improve their lineup.
The cost savings involved for the Rangers would be a net positive, as they'd save $1.8 million in cap space, moving on from Kreider and acquiring Tarasenko.
The Red Wings would get a veteran forward who has seen plenty of time in the playoffs.
There's very little downside to this, arguably as both forwards could use a fresh start and move on from their respective teams at the moment.
