Detroit Red Wings reveal status of injured Patrick Kane, Alex Lyon
Both Patrick Kane and Alex Lyon have missed the last handful of Detroit Red Wings games with injury, and the latest report on their health has been released by the team ahead of tomorrow's contest against the Canucks.
The modest two-game winning streak of the Detroit Red Wings was halted yesterday by the New Jersey Devils, who scored three power play goals as part of a 5-4 win.
It also marked the third straight game that forward Patrick Kane and goaltender Alex Lyon were unavailable due to injuries.
The Red Wings host the Vancouver Canucks tomorrow afternoon at Little Caesars Arena (12:30 PM, FanDuel Sports Detroit, 97.1 The Ticket), and further clarification has been given on the respective status of both players.
Kane was on the ice in Detroit's practice facility inside of Little Caesars Arena this morning, but Lyon was nowhere to be seen.
Kane reportedly left the ice early, however.
Per beat writer Helene St. James, Lyon will be unable to make Detroit's upcoming road trip. Meanwhile, Kane will not play tomorrow against Vancouver, but he could return later in the week.
Derek Lalonde said Red Wings' G Alex Lyon (lower body) won't make the trip to Boston & Ottawa. No real timeframe on his availability.
Patrick Kane (upper body) out Sunday, 4th straight game, chance he'll be available Tuesday at Boston.
Kane has three goals and seven assists for the Red Wings, his first full year with the team after agreeing to a one-year contract extension over the summer.
Lyon (4-4, 2.75 GAA, .911 SV%, 1 SO) is in the second of a two-year deal he signed in 2023.
