Mitch Marner shuts the door on the Detroit Red Wings and he's chpsen two specific teams

The Mitch Marner sweepstakes is just getting started, as it appears the Toronto Maple Leafs star forward may not consider the Detroit Red Wings a legitimate destination, which could spell doom for Steve Yzerman's hopes.
The Detroit Red Wings are thirsty for a trip to the postseason. The last time they legitimately made it to the playoffs was the year
Dylan Larkin started his career in the NHL.
A troubling statistic that could be helped but Toronto Maple Leafs forward
Mitch Marner. A 102-point forward and 27-goal scorer this season.
However, it seems as if the Red Wings aren't on his radar as he turns his gaze elsewhere.
The former $10.9 million AAV winger could look to the West in order to find a new home. That would include teams like the Los Angeles Kings, the Vegas Golden Knights, and the surprising x-factor of the bunch, the Anaheim Ducks.
The Ducks are the most surprising one of them all, considering they're not out of their rebuild quite yet.
But they do have plenty of cap space, and now have a winning coach behind the bench, with Joel Quenneville.
After all that's said and done, what does that have to say about the Detroit Red Wings? It seems as if GM Steve Yzerman has failed to make it a destination for skilled players, as the culture hasn't been built, so they can come.
That will be up to Todd McLellan and Dylan Larkin in order to make it an attractive destination for players like
Mitch Marner, who are now looking elsewhere instead of a legendary, original-six franchise.
Now, the team itself should focus on building an identity.
