According to The Athletic, an intriguing option on NHL waivers could very well become available for the Detroit Red Wings and general manager Steve Yzerman.
As the NHL season begins, the waiver wire also kicks off.
Many players who don't make the NHL roster will be forced to pass through waivers to be sent to the American Hockey League, opening up an opportunity for any other respective team to acquire them at no cost, but their salary of course.

According to The Athletic, Logan Stanley, a 6-foot-7 defenseman who could certainly use a fresh start, is expected to be placed on waivers shortly.
