A major development at the Detroit Red Wings practice causes concern ahead of the upcoming game against the Washington Capitals.

The Detroit Red Wings were back on the ice for a practice session ahead of their next game, set to go down Saturday afternoon, against the Washington Capitals.
Some adjustments had to be made following Thursday night's 4-1 loss to the Utah Mammoth, especially defensively.
After that game, head coach Todd McLellan opened up on the nature of his team's struggles:
"I thought the difference tonight was obvious. It was the play around the nets, and I'm not talking about goaltending. I'm talking about clearing and batting pucks away, and making sure to get sticks on pucks in the slot area.»

"Our power play got us a goal tonight and it was running at 25 percent (1-for-4 for the game). We can't ask it to score four or five goals a night. We didn't score at 5-on-5 and we gave up four."

If there were concerns at the blue line and at even strenght, they will be even higher for the next game, as a key player showed worrying signs on the ice.

Concerning Update On Moritz Seider At Wings Practice

Moritz Seider has never missed a game since he entered the NHL in the 2021-22 season, perhaps due to his hockey IQ, physical attributes, and great preparation.
But today, he took a second straight maintenance day but still showed up on the ice in street clothes.
Check it out:
Seeing him test out a few things on the ice without his uniform prompted a lot of rumors about his health, but Todd McLellan confirmed after practice that Seider is expected to be available for the weekend games against the Washington Capitals.
Ansar Khan confirmed the news on X, while adding that Patrick Kane won't be in the lineup and that John Gibson will get the start between the pipes:
Stay tuned for updates.
