Detroit Red Wings' newest acquisition continues to impress on world stage
The newest Detroit Red Wings prospect, Eduards Tralmaks, continues to impress us all in international competition, as he scored an assist on a game-winning goal for Latvia.
He'd make a centering pass, so his teammate could get right in the dirty spot on the goal and score a beauty.
The game-winning goal was scored by teammate
Oskars Batna in OT to secure the win in the exhibition matches before the IIHF tournament starts on May 9th.
The Detroit Red Wings and GM Steve Yzerman look like geniuses right now, if they can turn
Tralmaks into a full-time NHL foward.
He's found a way to put the spotlight on himself recently, with dirty goals, and excellent playmaking shown in the video above.
Tralmaks signed a bargain deal with the
Red Wings, at his contract with the team begins in 2025-2026, with an AAV of $775K.
It's a two-year, two-way deal that pays him differently at every level he plays at. At the AHL level, he'll be making $225K, but if he gets promoted to the NHL, he'll be making $775K, league minimum.
This won't be the 28-year-old's first foray into North America, as he's played for the Providence Bruins in the AHL before. He played collegiate hockey with the University of Maine, the same school as Bruins goalie
Jeremy Swayman.
It'll be difficult to see whether he makes it into the NHL, given how deep the Red Wings' prospect pool truly is. But seeing these clips is always exciting and gives us a good idea of what kind of game these players have.
