Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press has given us the latest report of Patrick Kane's status today.
The Detroit Red Wings will
be without key forward Patrick Kane for quite some time, according to the NHL Insider.
The veteran has been out of the lineup after suffering an upper-body injury during the team's 2-1 OT win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on October 17th.
The Detroit Red Wings Are Missing Patrick Kane
The Original Six team will miss "Showtime" on the ice, as he's still a 20-goal scorer in the twilight of his career.
The former 1st-overall pick of the 2007 NHL Draft scored 59 points (21-38) last season while being a staple in the top six.
Kane, Lucas Raymond, and now prospect
Carter Mazur are just some of the injuries the Red Wings have had to deal with these past few weeks.
It'd be right to expect the team to be worn down by this attrition in the lineup, but instead, they've shown the kind of resiliency you come to expect from scrappy teams.
And I'd define this Todd McLellan-led team as resilient, as they've shown they're capable of moving past their struggles and finding a way to stay atop the Atlantic Division.
