The Detroit Red Wings have revealed their logo for their Centennial Season, and it's a classic; as the logo itself looks to be from before Steve Yzerman and Gordie Howe's time, going back to the 30s & 40s era of Red Wings hockey.

The Detroit Red Wings have unveiled their Centennial season logo on the social media platform "X".
In what was an unexpected turn, the team will have a logo this season that is a callback to the early days of the "Red Wings" franchise, only a year after they'd changed their names from the "Falcons".

The logo itself has shorter wings and a bigger tire, which suggests the uniform's design for this season should have a retro feel from the 30s & 40s.
Given how the team's uniform hasn't really changed much from the start of the franchise, it's difficult to see any major changes unless Fanatics decides to go another route.
While we should expect a huge branding campaign for the classic look, the team will look different this season as well.
After July, we hope to see the Red Wings prepared for a big year, along with the classic logo in tow as they aim for the playoffs in 2025-26.
No word yet on an official uniform reveal for the Red Wings, but this was a nice teaser for Hockeytown fans who are eager for the new season to arrive.
The logo should have a special feel for Red Wings players, given it's the same style worn by the team when Jack Adams was their coach, and they won their first cup in 1936.
Could we see a rebound in play with nostalgia being a driving force?
