The Red Wings organization legend Henrik Zetterberg is officially returning to Detroit for a special occasion.

As we reported a few weeks ago, Henrik Zetterberg was hired by Timra IK, in the Swedish Hockey League, as an advisor to help develop the team and the players:
"I am passionate about Timrå IK and would like to contribute in a more structured way. This is an association with proud traditions but also with a strong belief in the future.

I want to help create the conditions for even more young, ambitious players to be able to take the step here and contribute to the club's continued growth."

Now, the Red Wings organization confirmed that Zetterberg will return to Detroit for a special occasion.

Zetterberg Returns To Detroit For Special Event

The former Wings captain and fan favorite, who brought the Stanley Cup back to Detroit in 2008, will officially return to Detroit as the franchise celebrates its Centennial season in a fan event: the Centennial FanFest.
Indeed, Zetterberg will appear at that event, between November 6th and 9th, alongside Sergei Fedorov, Nicklas Lidström, and several other legends.
"50+ alumni including Sergei Fedorov, Nicklas Lidström, Henrik Zetterberg, Chris Chelios, Vladimir Konstantinov, Chris Osgood and more will be in attendance signing autographs. A daily schedule is available and subject to change. Complimentary autograph passes can be claimed starting October 22 on a first-come, first-served basis for ticket holders."
Many other activities will take place at the FanFest, including a Q&A, watch parties, an exhibition, a hockey skills challenge, and much more.
Meanwhile, the Wings are preparing to face the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night for a crucial Atlantic Division matchup.
Stay tuned for more.
