Several rumors have been going around regarding Martin Necas since the Carolina Hurricanes fell out of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

According to the Daily face off Insider, Frank Seravalli, there are quite a few teams including the Red wings who have Necas on there radar despite not getting as much ice time as he would have hoped for with Carolina during the regular and post seasons.
Necas would be a great fit for Detroit as they look to improve there team for the coming season. However, acquiring Necas will require Detroit to make a drastic trade deal with the Hurricanes. The Red Wings have proven that they are willing to take risks with their cap space for the right players based on past trades they have made, which also shows how willing they may be to strike a deal with Carolina for Necas.
Necas style of play on the ice would make him an asset for Detroit and the Red Wings have options when it comes to ensuring they are able to obtain the cap space or plan they need to trade for him.
A trade offer that Carolina could settle for is the Red Wings obtaining Necas in exchange for forward Jonatan Berggren, defenseman William Wallinder, and a 2025 first-round pick. Another part of this trade:
"Detroit signed Necas to a contract extension. Additionally, the first-round pick in this trade is lottery-protected. Carolina receives an unprotected 2026 first-round pick if Detroit's pick is a lottery selection in 2025." -Tristin McKinstry

The Red Wings have a couple of wingers like Necas who can score so he would fit in perfectly with the team. Necas has shown that he can perform in his own zone on the ice and in the defense zone despite not being as strong defensively which is also something he can work on improving as he practices with the team in the offseason. There is plenty of room for Necas to develop as a player in Detroit and his offensive talent continues to stand out.
As for Berggren, he spent much of his time last season in the AHL and could be happy about the opportunity to perfume for The Hurricanes next season and be apart of their middle six lineup on the ice next season with Rod Brind'Amour as a headcoach Berggren would also have the opportunity for growth within Carolina and improve his skills as well.
Overall, the trade deal may not be one that is perfect for the Hurricanes but it is one that would benefit both teams in the long run.
