Key Red Wings veteran sidelined for at least a week, Todd McLellan says
Head coach Todd McLellan confirmed in a press conference that a key Detroit Red Wings veteran will be sidelined for at least a week due to an injury.
The Red Wings will look to stop their losing streak at four games tonight as they host the Boston Bruins at Little Caesars Arena.
It will once again be a crucial game for McLellan's team. The Wings drastically fell to the fifth spot in the standings after losing five of their last six games.
Ahead of the game, in a press conference, Wings head coach Todd McLellan revealed that the team will be without a key veteran forward who's dealing with an injury.

Indeed, McLellan confirmed that Mason Appleton will be sidelined for at least a week due to a lower-body injury.
The team shared the news in an official statement on X Tuesday:
Appleton, 29, scored nine points, including three goals, in 26 games so far with the Wings. The forward signed a two-year deal with the Wings last summer with an AAV of 2.9 million.
