Looks like Wings goaltender is heading back to Europe
Red Wings goaltender John Lethemon has decided to return to Finland to play in Liiga instead of staying with the Wings organization.
Lethemon did not see a game in the NHL and spent the majority of his time in the ECHL with the Walleye were he had a remarkable season. The 27 year-old had an 18-3-1 record with a 1.99 GAA.
He went 18-1-3 with a 1.99 GAA and .930 save percentage. That performance was earning him ECHL goaltender of the year recognition.- Duff
Despite it being an unfortunate departure, there was a very small change Lehtemon ended up in the NHL as the Wings have some great prospects with Bednar and Cossa.
