NCAA Goaltender Andrew Whale Stretchered Ice Off After Terrifying Collision
Bloodcurdling scene in the NCAA hockey league on Friday night as 22-year old netminder Jared Whale collapsed unexpectedly, leading to him being stretchered off of the ice.
22-year old goaltender Andrew Whales was stretchered off the ice on Friday after a very unsettling scene in the NCAA, when Andrew's University of New Hampshire facing off against the red hot Boston College.
The young netminders game came to an end when he and his teammate collided, the player landed on top of him, causing the 'injury'.
With five minutes left in the period, the referees sent teams to their dressing room as it took over several minutes for the trainers to get the 5"11' 194lb goaltender on the stretcher, in a gut wrenching fashion.
Rico DiMatteo, New Hampshire's backup goaltender took the crease to start the next period due to the injury loss of Whale's.
Whale's went under evaluation, the Mike Souza, the teams' head coach issued an update.

'Good news coming back from the hospital. So just some precautionary testing being done now, and knock on wood, hope to be able to send one of the guys from staff over to grab him and hopefully head on home.'
