The Detroit Red Wings organization announced that they activated a prospect ahead of tonight's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

The Red Wings have the opportunity to grab the top spot in the Atlantic Division tonight. For that to happen, the Montreal Canadiens will need to lose to the Florida Panthers, and Detroit will need to beat the Vancouver Canucks.
After many roster moves between the Wings and the Grand Rapids Griffins throughout the past weeks, notably including Nate Danielson and John Leonard, the team completed another one.
Indeed, on Wednesday, the Red Wings confirmed that they activated a prospect defenseman from the injured non-roster list.

Wings Activate Shai Buium From Non-Roster, Send Him To Grand Rapids

Shai Buium, the Red Wings' 36th overall pick in 2021, suffered an undisclosed injury during the preseason that forced him to watch the first half of the regular calendar from the press box.
The 22-year-old defenseman was coming off his first pro season with the Griffins, where he tallied 25 points in 63 games.
Yesterday, the Red Wings confirmed in an official press release that Shai Buium is finally ready to return and was sent to the Griffins:
Grand Rapids has been off to an incredible start this season, with 29 wins in 32 games.
Joining that team, with top prospects Nate Danielson and Michael Brandsegg Nygard, will be great for Buium's confidence and development.
Although he may need some time before finding his rhythm, it'll be interesting to see how he handles his return.
The Griffins will be back in action tomorrow night against the Texas Stars. An official update on Buium and the lineup is expected before then.
Stay tuned for the latest news related to Buium, the Griffins, and the Detroit Red Wings.
