The Detroit Red Wings organization made a special post on franchise legend Henrik Zetterberg ahead of tonight's home opener against the Montreal Canadiens.

The former Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg may have left the team over seven years ago and recently accepted a job with Timrå IK in the Swedish Hockey League, but his impact in Detroit can still be felt.
Zetterberg was still with the Wings when current captain Dylan Larkin entered the league, and despite playing only three years together, Larkin didn't hesitate to call Zetterberg "one of the greatest role models in [his] life."
Ahead of tonight's season opener, the Red Wings made a post on social media about Zetterberg.

Red Wings Pay Tribute To Former Captain Henrik Zetterberg

All season long, the Red Wings will celebrate the Centennial season by hosting pre-game ceremonies in tribute to the franchise's past glory.
Zetterberg's time in Detroit will be celebrated on March 6, before a game against the Florida Panthers, on a night called "Next Flight."
Meanwhile, on X, the Wings organization shared a post to celebrate Zetterberg for his 45th birthday:
Larkin and the Red Wings are set to open the Centennial season tonight, with a game against their Original Six rivals, the Montreal Canadiens.
Tonight's pre-game ceremony will include the usual player presentation but also a celebration of the franchise's beginnings called "Origins."
It'll be especially interesting to see Larkin's leadership in action tonight, as he welcomes training camp standout rookie Emmitt Finnie on his line.
Larkin already has great chemistry with Lucas Raymond but will now look to build the same thing with Finnie.
A tough challenge awaits the Wings as the Montreal Canadiens will be in town. The team reached the next level of their rebuild last season by making the playoffs and is poised for a great year.
The Habs are coming off a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs last night and will look to bounce back as soon as possible, starting tonight in Detroit.
