The Anaheim Ducks are in a precarious position, as they will have to rely on two ex-Detroit Red Wings goaltenders taking over the starting role while Lukas Dostal is out due to injury.

In bad news for the Anaheim Ducks, the team will be without starting goaltender Lukas Dostal, as he's out 2-3 weeks due to a recent injury.
With Dostal tending to an upper-body injury, the team will have to rely on two former Red Wings goalies, both of whom were acquired in trades from the team in recent years.
Dostal has been a key piece for the team, leading the flock with a .904 save percentage and a record of 11-5-1 in 17 games.
Petr Mrazek, who has been a starting goalie elsewhere in the NHL, won't have an issue guarding the crease in Anaheim in his absence.
He was the starter with the Chicago Blackhawks before the team traded for Spencer Knight.
Also stepping into the crease will be Ville Husso, a goaltender who once showed promise in both the St. Louis Blues and Detroit Red Wings systems but would falter later in his career.

What should the Anaheim Ducks expect from both former Detroit Red Wings goaltenders?

Petr Mrazek will have to step up his game to assume the top role, while Dostal could be out of the lineup for ten games or more.
This season, Mrazek has a record of 3-3-0, with an .881 save percentage and a 3.69 GAA (goals against average).
A disparate look for someone who was once considered a starting goaltender in the NHL.
Ville Husso will also have to put on his best performance, as he has played 1 game this year for the Ducks, has 1 win with a 3.74 GAA, and has a .852 save percentage.
He can step it up and can prove his demotion in Detroit to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins was wrong with this stretch of games, but we're not sure what he's capable of anymore.
The Red Wings traded Ville Husso to the Ducks for future considerations and never looked back, understandably so with that record.
