The Detroit Red Wings will have the 15th overall pick in the 2024 NHL draft. As we approach the 2024 draft, experts and analysts have started sharing their opinions and mock drafts.

While these predictions are not set in stone, they provide valuable insights into the potential prospects that the Red Wings may consider. The big question remains: who should the Detroit Red Wings choose with their pick? Sources suggest that the Red Wings should target Norwegian forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygard. A bulky 6"1, 200 pound power forward who could be a key addition to the Red Wings roster.
Scoot Wheeler from the Athletic comments on this potential draft pick:
"There are strong forecheckers, and then there's Brandsegg-Nygard, arguably the best forward in the draft at applying pressure and forcing turnovers in the offensive and neutral zones."

According to a mock draft conducted by NHL insiders, it was determined that Brandsegg-Nygard was the highest-rated selection. Sources indicate that Nygard is one of the most skilled forwards in the draft and has showcased impressive performance in the European Hockey League. He was also highly impressive at the World Juniors, averaging a point per game. Throughout his time in the Euro League, he accumulated a respectable 18 points in 41 games, but analysts believe that there is still room for improvement in his game.
TSN's Craig Button gives this potential draft an A+ rating and believes that Nygard would be an excellent fit for the Red Wings.
