Longtime NHL veteran hangs up the skates after sixteen seasons
A longtime NHL veteran has announced a press conference will be taking place on Monday, which will ultimately lead to a retirement announcement.

TJ Oshie have confirmed a press conference will be taking place on Monday, at a historic site of a past Stanley Cup celebration.
"Washington Capitals forward
T.J. Oshie will make a special announcement on Monday, June 9, at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at Washington Harbour in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. This date coincides with the anniversary of Oshie and the team swimming in the fountains two days after winning the Stanley Cup on June 7, 2018."
A recent report offered insight into this event taking place, that left many wondering at first.
The 38-year-old veteran will indeed be hanging up his skates for good following several injury complications throughout the past few years.
Retirement for TJ Oshie official on Monday
The Capitals revealed that the event will be open to the public.
Oshie missed the entire 2024/25 season due to an injury and would only play 52 games the season prior with the team.
On Monday, it will mark exactly seven years to the day since the Washington Capitals and Oshie won the Stanley Cup.
A heartfelt day to say the least, for Oshie to confirm his retirement.
