Ex-Red Wings goalie Alex Lyon begins his revenge tour today, as the team that let him walk in free agency will be facing the Buffalo Sabres in KeyBank Center.

The Buffalo Sabres take on the Detroit Red Wings today at home in the KeyBank Center.
One storyline to watch for is the goaltending. Former Red Wings goalie Alex Lyon will be starting in the crease for the Sabres as he'll be taking on his former team.
Motivated to win after being forgotten by the team during the offseason, we're certain he'll play hard in order to ensure a Sabres victory.
While the Red Wings will have to play their "A-game" in order to crack Lyon, who logically should be playing at another level today.
The 6-foot-1 goaltender finished the 2024-25 season with the Detroit Red Wings with a 2.81 GAA and a .896 save percentage.
He wasn't considered for a new contract and would test free agency. The Red Wings would get rid of Petr Mrazek in a house-cleaning scenario that has the team sporting a duo of John Gibson and Cam Talbot.

Today could be the day we see him establish himself as more than just a backup in the NHL, with a solid showing against his former team.
The depth goaltender is part of a new-look Sabres team that aspires for a spot in the postseason, and whose front office features former Columbus Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen.
He ended the game against the Blue Jackets with 13 saves on 14 shots against, and a .929 save percentage.
