Maple Leafs are reportedly interested in Red Wings' forward
According to NHL insiders, the Maple Leafs are interested in Detroit Red Wings' David Perron, who will hit free agency.
His $9.5 million deal is set to expire this offseason, and he will become a free agent on July 1st.
NHL Insider David Pagnotta said:
''One veteran forward the Maple Leafs may try to add this summer: David Perron,'' Pagnotta wrote on his website.
Last season, he played 76 games and recorded 47 points. Given that Detroit failed to make the playoffs, Toronto might be an attractive option for Perron, who already won the Stanley Cup in 2019.
After being eliminated by the Boston Bruins, the Maple Leafs are looking to make some major changes. They have already cleaned house in the coaching staff, but they are looking to add a Top 6 winger to their roster to make up for their postseason disappointment.
