A 25-year-old defenseman is reportedly placed on the trading block and it's a huge opportunity for the Detroit Red Wings.

It appears clear that the Detroit Red Wings General Manager Steve Yzerman will be aggressive on the market this offseason. After being criticized by his own captain about his trade deadline status quo, and with the team's blue line needing reinforcements, a lot is expected from Yzerman in the coming months.
As we reported earlier today, the Wings could be interested in adding an experienced veteran to help the younger players develop, with Florida Panthers' Aaron Ekblad emerging as a potential target.
However, the team could also gain a lot by adding another young player with a high ceiling.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers could make one available.

Rangers Reportedly Evaluating Trading Options With RFA K'Andre Miller

On the latest 32 Thoughts edition, Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Rangers placed their 22nd overall pick in 2019, K'Andre Miller, on the trade block:
Miller, 25, had a tough season this year, like the rest of his team. He scored 27 points in 74 games, but managed to maintain a 0 goal differential.
He underwent surgery at the beginning of the offseason, but he should be ready for the start of the next season.
In his career, he scored 36 goals and 96 assists through 368 regular season games, and 12 points, including three goals, in 43 playoff games.
He could be an interesting player to target for the Red Wings. He showed a lot of talent on both sides of the ice and still hasn't reached his full potential.
Considering that he's an RFA, he'd be eligible to receive an offer sheet. The Rangers placing him on the block could be a sign that the team is considering parting ways with him.
If they were to let him leave the organization, management would rather trade his rights than be compensated for an offer sheet.
For the Red Wings, a trade would be the best option, as they would have more control over the player's salary, and it wouldn't cost too much to acquire him.
