Goaltending trade between the Oilers and Red Wings officially addressed: It's being revisited
A trade between the Detroit Red Wings and the Edmonton Oilers has now been officially addressed and is being revisited.
Earlier in the summer, the Detroit Red Wings were speculated to potentially trade their goaltending prospect,
Sebastian Cossa, to the Edmonton Oilers.
This was due to the fact that Edmonton is evidently lacking talent within their net, an area the Red Wings are definitely not lacking.
This trade was seemingly on the rise; even a top Oilers insider strongly linked Edmonton to having interest in
Sebastian Cossa.
However, despite the speculations and rumors, nothing ever came to fruition.
While the whispers of Cossa's departure went quiet, new speculations are causing this young star's name to start looming in the rumor mill once again.
The Edmonton Oilers urged to revisit the trade pitch for Detroit Red Wings' goaltender Sebastian Cossa
This 22-year-old goalie was drafted by Detroit with their 15th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and has developed immensely since.
Some even believe this talent is on the cusp of the National Hockey League.
Additionally, due to the Detroit Red Wings having a lineup of talents ahead of Cossa within the organization, this young goaltender may just be available if the right price is offered.
At this time, it is uncertain whether or not the Detroit Red Wings will depart with this promising goaltender, yet the idea his name is now resurfacing once again is causing many to believe this talent may be on his way out.
Do you think the Detroit Red Wings will depart with their young goaltender, Sebastian Cossa, this year?
