An NHL insider has unveiled that Detroit Red Wings' two-time Stanley Cup Champion has reportedly requested a trade away from the organization.

The Detroit Red Wings made some major moves last summer to push for postseason contention in the 2024/25 NHL season, including the acquisition of a 33-year old two-time Stanley Cup Champion, Vladimir Tarasenko during free agency.
While their moves didn't pan out as anticipated, as they still fell well short of their goal, the organization is seemingly not the only ones frustrated with the outcome of the 2024/25 NHL season.
As it has been revealed that their newly acquired key-veteran appears to want out following the disappointing campaign.

Trusted NHL insider, Frank Servalli, has suggested that Vladimir Tarasenko seemingly wants out of Detroit

Insider, Frank Servalli, reported on dailyfaceoff.com that he has heard of Tarasenko's frustration's in Detroit.
« There was word that Tarasenko wasn't thrilled with his arrangement in Detroit, leaving open the possibility that he's on the move this summer for a better fit. His production dropped to a career-low 11 goals.

He had that many in a 43-game run in Florida that saw him contribute to the 2024 Stanley Cup champs. When everything clicks, there are few better natural goal scorers in the game.»

Vladimir Tarasenko signed a two-year, $9.5 million with the Detroit Red Wings last free agency, and while he is seemingly frustrated in his role, his performance as also unexpected.
The veteran tallied just 11 goals and 33 points within 80 games played, which is his worst output in a full season since his NHL debut with the St. Louis Blues back in the 2012/13 season.
Although it is uncertain whether or not Red Wings fans can expect Tarasenko to stick through this tough patch with the organization, it is certain that Detroit's general manager, Steve Yzerman, and the organization will have an extremely busy offseason if they are looking to break their nine-year streak of postseason absence.
