A major announcement between the Detroit Red Wings and the Dallas Stars was just confirmed

The Red Wings have confirmed that they will be playing the 2025 NHL Prospect Games at Comerica Center in Texas instead of Traverse City this year.
The Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars will still be playing in the upcoming NHL Prospects Tournament, though the location has since shifted.
Instead of being played at Center ICE Arena in Traverse City, where the Red Wings have traditionally held Training Camp since the late 1990s, the tournament has been moved to Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas, starting on September 13 and running through the following day.
Center ICE Arena had hosted the Prospects Tournament since 1998, though the participation has thinned out considerably to now include just the Red Wings and the Stars.
For now, the plan is to rotate locations, so the Red Wings and Stars' prospects will play one another next year in northern Michigan, and then in Frisco in 2027, and so on.
Last year, Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman acknowledged the change while noting that teams continue to evolve how they handle prospects during the summer.
Us and Dallas are going to play two games. We're down to two teams now. Things are changing, evolving in the offseason, development camps, rookie tournaments. Teams are doing different things. We're going to go up with our rookies and we're going to meet Dallas there and play two games.
The Red Wings will still host their Training Camp in Traverse City, though the dates and times have yet to be announced by the club. While the pre-season schedule has already been released, fans everywhere continue to await the release of the regular season schedule.
