Detroit Red Wings forward Alex DeBrincat sent a strong message to Team USA's management ahead of the 2026 Olympic Games.

Alex DeBrincat is currently on the best stretch of his season so far, with six points, including five goals, in the last three games.
USA Hockey must be happy to see three American players leading the league this week, especially with the deadline to submit their roster for the 2026 Olympics approaching.
There's no doubt that DeBrincat should be considered for a spot in the lineup for the coveted tournament.
Todd McLellan explained exactly why he can be of service for the U.S. at the Olympics.

By finding his former offensive rhythm, DeBrincat helped the Wings get back on the right track, while also boosting his chances of making the Olympic roster.
However, according to his head coach, his value also lies in his ability to bring the same game from anywhere in the lineup-a quality that would be useful in a tournament like the Olympics.
Here's what McLellan had to say about him:
"He could go anywhere in our lineup and play the same game over and over again. When you have a player like that, who doesn't play outside of his skin or change the way he is when you move him around, that's pretty valuable. Sometimes individuals will do something they wouldn't normally do when they get elevated or dropped a little further down the lineup.

"But Cat plays the same game well, over and over again.

"He gets on those heaters, and we'd like to keep him on one."

In 19 games so far this season, DeBrincat has tallied 21 points, including nine goals.
Although there are many talented players who will be considered for a spot on the Olympic roster, the Wings forward has put himself in a great position to represent his country in Milan next February, like his captain and teammate Dylan Larkin.
