Analyst unveils one offseason move the Red Wings must make

The Detroit Red Wings will need to make a few moves in the offseason to make sure to avoid yet another disappointing playoff miss.

While all areas of the lineup can be blamed for the tough season, the goaltender unit must definitely be addressed.

Teams who go far in the playoffs can usually count on a great goaltender, but most importantly, on an overall great lineup. Goalies can't do everything on the ice, but with a solid duo, the Red Wings could be in a much better position to make the playoffs next season.

Cam Talbot, Petr Mrazek and Alex Lyon won't all return to the Red Wings next season, as changes are expected to go down in the organization.

Lyon will become a free agent on July 1st, Mrazek could very well end up in the AHL next season, and unless we see a Talbot/Sebastian Cossa tandem, Yzerman is likely planning on adding a goalie to his team this summer.

A new report suggested three goalies that could target the Red Wings.

Demko will be a free agent after the next season. With Kevin Lankinen and Arturs Silovs, the Canucks could consider trading the goaltender to add depth in other areas of their lineup.

Oettinger had a rough elimination from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, being replaced between the pipes after allowing two goals on the first two shots of an elimination game. After such a tough time in Dallas, Oettinger could be tempted to ask for a trade, and the Red Wings must be in the derby if he becomes available.

The Bruins had a terrible year last season, but the team still has a great core of talented players. Swayman is among those players. After the organization parted ways with Linus Ullmark, Swayman got the number one duties, but couldn't bring the same level he showed in the past, and had a disappointing first contract year.

It would be surprising to see any of them traded, but the Red Wings could cause a surprise and make an offer to get a top goalie.
