It looks like the Detroit Red Wings have their eyes on potentially stealing Dakota Joshua from the Vancouver Canucks.

It's not secret that the Detroit Red Wings had a disastrous end to their season as they watched it crumble at the hands of the Washington Capitals. As we analyze what potentially went wrong for the Red Wings down the stretch, it could be as simple as the Wings were severely lacking in offensive firepower. Could Dakota Joshua be the answer they are looking for?
There's also the question of whether Yzerman will be looking to add outside reinforcements to the roster via free agency or trade. And according to one particular insider for the Vancouver Canucks, Yzerman could have interest in Dearborn native Dakota Joshua.
Dakota Joshua is coming off his best season as a Canuck. The big 6'2, 182 lb. power forward notched 18 goals in 63 games, and is poised to keep the setting the bar higher as we enter next season. Joshua also notched a respectable 8 points through 13-postseason games this year
Dakota Joshua signed a $1.65 million AAV contract with Vancouver in 2022, but will likely be looking at a huge bump in pay as his performance has been stellar as of late. Sources have confirmed that Dakota Joshua is now on general manager Steve Yzerman's watch list.
