Cam Talbot delivers honest thoughts on the Red Wings clinching a playoff spot following 2-1 win vs Bruins

As the Detroit Red Wings are in the hunt for a Wildcard spot in the NHL Eastern Conference, a 2-1 win against the Boston Bruins furthered their odds at contention for the first time since the 2015 season, and Cam Talbot's performance alongside his postgame comments say a lot about the current state of the team.
Cam Talbot lead the Red Wings to a strong 2-1 win on Saturday night in an original six matchup at Little Caesars Area with a stellar 20-save performance.
One of the 20 saves came in highlight-reel fashion, receiving recognition from the NHL.
During the Red Wings' post-game press conference, Talbot issued a strong statement, revealing that if he and his teammates continue to perform at such level as Saturday, they are destined for 'qualification', the playoffs.
«We have to stay on an even keel,» said Talbot. «This is a big, emotional win, but we have to go on the road now and we can't get too low or too high. If we keep playing our game, I like our chances.»
Todd McLellan credits win vs Bruins to Cam Talbot
McLellan, who has coached Talbot in various organizations (Los Angeles, Edmonton, Detroit) is familiar with his goaltenders ability to lock in, and praised it in his post-game presser.
«I think it started with the confidence (Talbot) gave the rest of the group,» Red Wings coach said. «He wasn't bombarded, but when he had to make a really big save - like that one at the end - he made it.»
Red Wings have tough schedule ahead
The Red Wings' next five straight games are against playoff teams, and it will be their ultimate test to see if Steve Yzerman's group is strong enough to take their abilities to the postseason.
