PK Subban disrespects Detroit Red Wings forward in brutal announcing
PK Subban is a huge fan of Austin Watson; however, in his head, he was thinking of the Toronto Maple Leafs' Matthews, whom he referred to Watson as more than once, hilarity ensues.
NHL analysts offer perspectives into the game of hockey that we wouldn't consider with their personal knowledge of the game. One of those who offers a great source of commentary is PK Subban.
Subban is quite polarizing in the hockey world, you love him or you hate him.
Instead of taking a breath to recognize that Watson wasn't "Papi" and wasn't the elite American hockey player we know and love, he committed to the bit.
Subban would call
Watson, one of the NHL's greatest forwards, "Matthews" at least four times during the clip.
Though he would acknowledge his mistake the third time, was the fourth intentional just to keep Mark Messier crying-laughing?
Lighthearted moments like this are refreshing in times of strife when this week has been trying, as multiple losses have been reported in the hockey world.
Maybe NHL on TNT could add some more commentators with some experience in comedy, add Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles?
Just like we could wish that Austin Watson could score 60 goals in a season.
