Could Carter Hart be the new backup in Detroit?

The Detroit Red Wings could add some serious goaltending in the net if GM Steve Yzerman is capable of inking former Philadelphia Flyers goalie Carter Hart to a new deal.
With the acquisition of former Anaheim Ducks starting goalie
John Gibson, the Red Wings are ready to make a splash.
One player who is currently a free agent and could be looking for a new home is former Flyers goalie
Carter Hart.
According to Jake Tye of The Hockey News, the Red Wings are poised to make another move, and signing Hart might be the true backup to Gibson. Despite the notion that Cam Talbot may be it.
But given recent discussions, nothing is certain in the Red Wings' lineup as intriguing options remain available.
That all depends on whether or not Carter Hart will be reinstated into the NHL, given the recent news surrounding the former elite NHL goalie.
And The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta suggests that the Red Wings could be one of the teams keeping tabs on the Hart situation as it progresses. The former 2nd-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft was the starting goalie of the Flyers up until recently.
In his rookie season, he put up an impressive set of numbers, with a 16-13-1 record, 2.38 GAA, and a .917 save percentage.
Hart would be no stranger to success, as he continued his hot streak into his sophomore year, with 43 GP, a 24-13-3 record, 2.42 GAA, and a .914 save percentage.
Hart would offer the Red Wings some serious clout in the net, and be a difference maker compared to the last two seasons, where the team has had to take what's available on the market.
Incidentally, not the best players available.
Carter Hart's last deal in the NHL paid him $3.9 million over three years, but to get his foot back in the door, he may have to accept less.
